Some jobs start with clearing the way before anything new can begin.

These photos show one of our recent jobs, where we were breaking out an existing concrete area and clearing it ready for the next stage of works. It is the kind of work that often goes unnoticed, but it is essential for everything that follows.

Breaking Out and Clearing the Area

Using a compact excavator fitted with a hydraulic breaker, we were able to break through the existing concrete safely and efficiently. Once the slab was broken up, the material was gathered and cleared, leaving the area ready for the next phase of the project.

This type of work needs a steady approach. Control matters more than speed, especially in areas where space is limited or where other parts of the site need to remain accessible.

The Right Machine for the Job

For this job, we used a mid sized excavator that is well suited to this kind of work. Large enough to break through concrete effectively, but still compact enough to work in tighter areas without causing disruption.

Attachments like hydraulic breakers allow one machine to carry out multiple tasks. Breaking, lifting and clearing can all be handled on site without needing separate equipment.

Jobs like this are often carried out in areas that are still in use. Car parks, access roads and service areas do not always stop just because work is taking place.
